Cecil Bonebrake, age 86, of Huron, SD, formerly of Wessington, SD, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church in Wessington, SD, with burial at the Wessington Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Cecil Bonebrake, the son of John and Nannie (Compton) Bonebrake, was born on October 15, 1927, in Wessington Springs, SD. Cecil attended school and graduated from Virgil High School. Cecil was a farmer for most of his life until his retirement. He moved to Huron in 2010. Cecil was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington. He enjoyed riding his lawnmower, and ATV throughout Wessington. Cecil also enjoyed spending time with friends at the Wessington Senior Center. Grateful for having shared in Cecil's life are his three sisters, Joyce Price of Huron, Edna White of Phoenix, AZ, and Bertha Cole of Hitchcock; two brothers, Walter Bonebrake of Belle Fourche, and Lawrence Bonebrake of Huron; and several nieces and nephews. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Lucille Timmerman, Alice Timmerman, Maxine Zell, Dorothy Ranft, Vi Hines, and Margaret Sexton; and brother, Harold Kirten.
