Carolynn Peskey, age 69, of Huron died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at her home. Following her wishes, Carolynn's body has been cremated and her memorial service will be Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Campus Center near the pool in Huron from 4-7 pm. Carolynn LaVonne Landers was born to Orville and Delores (Kjose) Landers on November 27, 1945 in Sioux City, IA. She lived in Elk Point, SD with her parents. Carolynn graduated from Elk Point High School and then attended Stewart's School of Hairstyling. Carolynn married Richard Peskey on March 26, 1966 in Elk Point, residing for a time in Elk Point before moving to Huron where she raised her five children. She later worked at various places around Huron when the children were older. "Big Red" loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed pool league, her pets, and watching the squirrels and birds outside her window while at her snack bar. Carolynn was a member of the Morningside Mothers Club, the Ladies Card Club, the old Moose Lodge, and First Baptist Church. Carolynn is survived by her husband of 49 years, Richard L. Peskey Sr. of Huron; five children, DeLores (Colin) Royal of Huron, Richard (Heather Ruden) Peskey Jr. of Huron, Edward (Candy) Peskey III of Rochester, MN, Donald (Marcy) Peskey II of Rochester, MN, Evelyn Peskey of Huron; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; many brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and friends. Carolynn was an only child. Carolynn was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Shawn Maslack
