Carolyn (Shoultz) Crathers, age 59, of Huron died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at her home in Huron.

Her Funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Huron Baptist Church.

Visitation with family present will be from 5-7 p.m.  Wednesday, June 15, at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service at the church; her body will then be cremated and burial of her cremated remains will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Clark, SD.

Carolyn Mae Shoultz, the daughter of Wendell and Joseta (Becker) Shoultz, was born on February 27, 1957 in Huron, SD where she attended school. She worked at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home and Headstart of Huron until starting her job as a nurse's aide for the Adult Day Care Center in Huron. Carolyn worked at Adult Day Care for many years until her health forced her to retire. Even after retirement, Carolyn still loved to volunteer at the Adult Day Care Center.

Carolyn was a member of Huron Baptist Church where she helped in the kitchen and volunteered with the Church youth. She enjoyed camping, taking long walks, scrapbooking, and going on drives.  She loved spending time with her family and friends especially watching her grandchildren play sports.

Grateful for having shared in Carolyn's life are her son, James (Christy) Shoultz of Huron; daughter, Jennifer Crathers of Huron, SD; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Samantha, and James Jr. Shoultz; her siblings: John (Kathy) Shoultz of Huron, Kenneth (Nancy) Shoultz of Huron, Charles (Martha) Shoultz of Castlewood, Allen (Robin) Shoultz of Huron, Helen (Juan) Herrera of Belton, TX, Larry (Pamela) Shoultz of Huron; and many nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseta and Wendell; a sister in infancy, Mary Jo; and many other loved ones.
