Carolyn McIlvaine, age 70 of Huron, died Sunday July 17, 2011 at SunQuest HealthCare Center in Huron. Her funeral will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Welter Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 am Thursday before the service at the funeral home. Carolyn McIlvaine was born June 6, 1941 in Huron to Lloyd and Loma (Meyers) McIlvaine. She attended elementary school at the Ross School, Virgil High School, before graduating from Huron High School in 1959. After graduation, Carolyn work as a medical secretary for 17 years at the Huron Clinic until she had to retire because of illness. Carolyn enjoyed living on the family farm with her mother. She stayed on the farm for 2 years after Loma died in 1995, until she moved to the nursing home because of her health. Carolyn was a member of Virgil United Methodist Church, the Virgil United Methodist Choir, and various card clubs. Carolyn enjoyed playing cards, ceramics, and singing with her family. Carolyn is survived by her sister, Bonnie (Ralph) Gosch of Huron; one Niece, Christine (Dan) Gosch-Morris of Springfield, MO; great nephew, Nick Gosch-Morris; great niece, Madison and Kennedy Gosch-Morris. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
