Caroline Boschee, age 89, of Aberdeen, formerly of Huron, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Visitation with family present will be from 11:00 am until noon on Monday October 20, 2014 at Welter Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Caroline Christina Boschee was born in Rosco, South Dakota on November 30, 1924 to Jacob and Lydia (Kapfenstein) Walz. She attended country schools through the eighth grade. Caroline married Alvin Boschee on October 10, 1954 in Aberdeen. They made their home on the farm and started their family. Caroline worked for many restaurants in Aberdeen including the Virginia Café, Starlight Truck Stop, Airport Café, and the Flame Café. The couple retired to Huron in 1991. In 2008, she entered the Groton Nursing Home due to her failing health. Caroline spent the last five years in the Aberdeen Heath and Rehab center, close to her family. Caroline enjoyed puzzles, playing UNO, doing word searches, and spending time with her family. While at the nursing home Caroline liked to play bingo, listening to the musical performers and polka records. She was a sweet and caring person that touched a lot of lives. Caroline is survived by her 2 sons, Roger (Wendy) Boschee of Gillette, WY, Kelvin Boschee of Aberdeen; 3 daughters, Lavina Semmler of Helena, MT, Mary Knowlton of Hawkins, WI, Carol Pullman of Aberdeen; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; 6 siblings, Ester Erlenbusch of Aberdeen, Adolph Walz of Aberdeen, Ruth Foster of Santa Rosa, CA, Verna McAtee of Orange Grove, CA, Clara Dumire of Salem, OR, and Ann Daughtery of Burbank, CA; many nieces and nephews. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alvin Boschee in 2000.
