Obituary

Carol Klitzke, age 59, of 1821 Illinois Ave. SW, Huron, died Monday, June 19, 2006, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral mass will be at 11:00 AM Friday, June 23, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Joe Holzhauser officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the mass at the church Friday morning. There will be a Scripture Service at 7:30 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Carol Klitzke was born Carol Lea Easton on January 17, 1947, to Howard F. and Helen (Masyczek) Easton at Aberdeen, SD. In 1952 she moved with her family to Huron where she attended St. Teresa Catholic School and graduated from Huron High School in 1965. She attended and graduated from Huron College with a Bachelor of Music Degree in 1969. Carol was an organist for St. Martin Catholic Church from 1957 to 1969 when she moved to Jackson, MN, to teach music in the public school system. While living in Jackson Carol met Glenn Klitzke and they were married on August 7, 1971, at the Church of the Resurrection in Huron. They moved to Huron in the summer of 1973 and she has lived here since that time. Carol was secretary at the Church of the Resurrection for several years; president of the Welcome Wagon Organization; secretary/business manager for the Huron Symphony League; and music coordinator/choir director/organist at the Church of the Resurrection/Holy Trinity Catholic Parish from 1973 to the present. Carol was also very active in several church groups. Her husband, Glenn, died on May 4, 2001. She is survived by 1 son, Scott Klitzke of Huron; 1 brother, Howard (Linda) Easton, Jr., of Carthage, SD; and several nieces, a nephew, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Glenn, she was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
