Carol J. Heath, age 74, of Huron, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at her home. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am on Wednesday at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Burial will be at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls at a later date. Visitation with her family present will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at Welter Funeral Home; or visitation one hour prior to the funeral service.

Carol Jean, daughter of Lyle and Gladys (Kruse Walker) Crapser was born on February 19, 1949, in Brookings, South Dakota.  She attended school in Brookings. Carol married Richard Heath on November 18, 1967, in Huron. The couple lived in Sioux Falls for a few years before returning to Huron in 1973.

Carol worked several places throughout her life, but her most recent position was at Runnings. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Huron; her daughter, Tammy Heath of Madison, Wisconsin; her brother, Leroy Crapser of Sinai, South Dakota; and dear friend, Judy Briggs of Forestburg, SD.

She was preceded by her parents, Lyle and Gladys; step-mother, Ona Crapser; sister, Gloria Fixmer, and brother Ray Crapser; grandparents, Melbourn and Teolina Crapser, Enno Kruse and Dora Kruse Walker, step-grandfather, Jacob Walkner; and aunts, cousins and brother-in-law.
