Carol "C.H" Erling, age 92, of Huron, SD passed away on Saturday March 16, 2013 at his home in Huron. His Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday March 20, 2013 at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, SD; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Carol "C.H." Erling the son of Ernest F. and Ena (Kahler) Erling, was born on December 22, 1920 in Rutland, SD. He attended school and graduated from Raymond High School. "C.H." served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was honorably discharged. Carol moved to Huron in 1946. "C.H." married Jacque Depner on November 8, 1954. Jacque passed away on July 13, 2000. "C.H." married Linda Quam Lyerla on August 18, 2010 in Huron, SD. "C.H." owned and operated the Raymond Oil Company for 67 years. "C.H." was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron. He was also a member of the American Legion William Reaves Post # 7, and the VFW Forrest McMullen Post #1776. "C.H." was a member of the South Dakota LP Gas Association and the Independent Oilmen's Association. Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife Linda, of Huron, SD; grandson, Charlie (Natalie) Erling of Tea, SD; two step-granddaughters; five step-great-grandchildren; a step-great-great-grandchild; sister Joan (Robert) Klar of Fall Brook, CA; and several nieces and a nephew. "C.H." was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jacque in 2000; son E.H. "Butch" Erling; step-son, Michael Russell; step-daughter, Bridgette Cook; two granddaughters; and brother, Jean Erling.
