Brett R. Taft, age 50, of Huron, SD, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. His body has been cremated and a burial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield, SD with military honors by the Spink County Veterans Council. Brett R. Taft, the son of Kermit and Linda (Bergerson) Taft was born on September 6, 1961 in Huron, SD. He attended school and graduated from Huron High School. Brett served his country in the U.S. Army for 9 years and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He owned his own painting business for many years. Brett enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and spending time with his family and friends. Grateful for having shared in his life are his father, Kermit Taft, of Huron, SD; 2 brothers, Brian (Debbie) Taft, of Rosemont, MN and Blake (Darci) Taft of Moorehead, MN; a niece, several nephews, and friends. Brett was preceded in death by his mother, Linda.
