Brad Jay Buckland age 67, died Monday, December 22, 2025 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, surrounded by his family. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron. From 12-2 p.m., there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Quality Inn in Huron for food and fellowship.

 Brad Jay Buckland the son of Lester and Wilma (Phillips) Buckland was born on January 29, 1958, in Huron, SD. Brad attended the Huron Public Schools and was a 1976 graduate. While at Huron High School, he participated in football, basketball, and track and was honored to be named to the All-State football team in 1975. He went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Huron University. He worked several years doing accounting from his home. Brad moved from Huron to Breckenridge, Minnesota, and several years later moved to Albuquerque for the mild winters. 

 Brad loved listening to music, loved his dogs, and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the North Carolina Tar Heels. 

 Grateful for sharing his life are his 2 brothers Roland (Kandi) Buckland of Colorado Springs, CO, Dennis (Carol) Buckland of Mitchell, SD; 2 sisters Lanette (Bill) Schmidt of Harrisburg, SD, and Patricia (Tom) Shawd of Sioux Falls, SD; and many nieces and nephews with one very special nephew, Jeremy Buckland, that he had a very "son-like" bond. 

 Brad was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and infant brother Charles.
