Bonnie G. Nielsen, age 92, of Huron, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Huron Regional Medical Center. A private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Huron.

Bonnie was born on July 27, 1927 in Geddes, SD to Niel A. and Agnes C. (Cornelius) Nielsen.  She graduated from high school in Woonsocket, SD and later entered St. John's School of Nursing in Huron in 1946 where she graduated and became a Registered Nurse in 1949. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. John's Hospital in Huron, SD from 1949-1951, Schoitz Hospital in Waterloo, IA from 1951-1963, and St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA from 1963 until her retirement in 1984. She remained in Cedar Rapids until 2012 when she relocated to Huron. Bonnie enjoyed reading and traveling, and was a longtime member of South Dakota and Iowa Nursing Associations from 1949-2012.

Bonnie is survived by one brother Eudale (Helen) Nielsen of Huron, SD; one sister, Madonna Kentro, of San Diego, CA; one nephew, James Fox; and four nieces, Lori Dorris, Paula Deckert, Amy Fenner, and Dorothy Joslin. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Faith Slay Fox; and one nephew, Steven Keutro.
