Bonnie B. Gosch, age 76, of Huron, passed away at the Huron Regional Medical Center on Monday, February 21, 2022. Her funeral service will be on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 1 PM at Welter Funeral Home with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Huron. Visitation with her family present will be from 5-7 PM on Friday, February 25, 2022 or one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Bonnie was born on May 5, 1945 in Huron, South Dakota to Loma Meyers McIlvaine and Lloyd McIlvaine.  She was raised in Huron, South Dakota and dedicated her entire life to this community. She grew up on a farm on the southwest side of Huron, near Virgil with her parents and her sister Carolyn. She graduated from Huron High School in 1963 and went on to attend college at South Dakota State University.  She married Ralph H. Gosch on June 12, 1965 while they were in college.  She helped put Ralph through pharmacy school by working as a cook at a hotel in Brookings, South Dakota.  After he graduated pharmacy school, they returned to Huron where she has lived the remainder of her life.  Bonnie was the perfect better half to Ralph - only she had the emotional and physical strength, stamina and abilities to be his other half.  Together they accomplished so many amazing things in this world.

Bonnie and Ralph made their home in Huron after Ralph finished college.  In 1967, Ralph and Bonnie welcomed their only child, Christine H. Gosch.  For many years, Bonnie sewed for a living, making personally fit and designed clothing for many people in the Huron community. She loved anything crafty from sewing to floral decor to custom framing.  She and Ralph owned and operated Humphrey Drug Store as well as operated a multi-state food concession business.  They also operated Gosch's Greenhouse which supplied the multi-state region with bedding plants for over a decade.  They expanded into collectible art prints and custom framing which became one of Bonnie's great loves. She spent 1000's of hours in the basement of Humphreys matting and framing collectible prints.  Bonnie, Ralph and Christie spent every summer traveling the regional area selling funnel cakes, corn dogs, fresh-squeezed lemonade and all sorts of other goodies, including over 20 years at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and at the Renaissance Faire at Sleepy Hollow Park in Des Moines, Iowa.  Concessions allowed Bonnie to meet and work with so many people, often taking kids under her wing and training them to be dedicated, hard workers, teaching them so many valuable life lessons.   Bonnie spent the last few years of her life traveling around directing a crew of 6 to 20 employees at various concession events. She also loved to travel to visit Christie and her three grandchildren who she dearly loved.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine H. Gosch-Echevarria, MD of Nixa, Missouri and her three dearly beloved grandchildren Nicholas and Madison of Springfield, Missouri and Kennedy who is stationed at Whiteman Airforce Base in Missouri and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, both her parents, and her sister, Carolyn McIlvaine.
