Bonnie Fenner, age 91, of Huron, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Avera Dougherty Hospice Home in Sioux Falls, SD. 

Her Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Iroquois, South Dakota, with lunch immediately following the service.

Visitation, with her family present, will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron. 

Bonnie was born on July 5, 1934, in Esmond, SD, to Margaret (Stevens) & Albert Walters. She graduated from Cavour High School in 1952, attended Northwest College of Commerce in Huron, SD, and worked at Standard Oil in Mason City, Iowa. She married Wendell Fenner in 1953. They lived in Alameda, CA, where she worked in the office at Capwell’s Department Store while Wendell was serving in the U.S. Army. They returned to rural Iroquois in 1954 to farm. Farming was their life, and they made a good team. Bonnie also worked part-time in the office at Magness Livestock Market from 1968-1991.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters: Rhonda Fenner & Donna (Lee) Mabee, both of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren & three great-grandchildren: Cort Eidem, San Francisco, CA; Braden (Christina) & Brian Towlerton, Iroquois, SD; Alexis (Brent) & Owen Fredin, Sioux Falls, SD; Brit (Thom) Bridge & Henry, Helena, MT; and sister Shirley Engel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wendell, son Douglas, three sisters Mavis, Elaine & Elva, one brother Bill.
