Blanche S. Reineke, age 85, of Sioux Falls and formerly of 1154 Colorado Ave SW, Huron died Saturday, January 1, 2005 at Avera Prince of Peace Nursing Home at Sioux Falls. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 5th at Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Senner officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call this Tuesday afternoon and evening or Wednesday morning at the Welter Funeral Home. Blanche Reineke was born Blanche Sena Schlueter on October 17, 1919, to Gerhardt D. and Serna (Bogh) Schlueter on her grandparents farm near Wolsey. They lived in the Wolsey area before moving to a farm near Hitchcock. When she had completed grade school she moved with her family to a farm near Wolsey. She attended and graduated from Huron High School. On September 29, 1940, Blanche married Edward Herman Reineke in the American Lutheran Church at Huron. She lived in Huron most of her life before moving to Sioux Falls. She is survived by two daughters, Alice F. Reineke of Arden Hills, MN and Thelma Brown of Sioux Falls; two grandchildren, Joseph (Ladonna) Brown of Brandon and Angela Brown of Sioux Falls; two great grandchildren, Brittney and Haily; one sister, Marjorie Burks of Norwalk, CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward on April 6, 1973, one son-in-law, Robert D. Brown, her parents, an infant brother and step mother.
