Obituary

William Lee Eining, age 63, of Huron, died Thursday, September 22, 2011, at his residence due to complications following a liver transplant. His memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial at Riverside Cemetery. His memorial visitation will be Wednesday, September 28, from 5-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home. William "Bill" Lee Eining, son of Kenneth and Velma (Rogers) Eining, was born on March 8, 1948, in Huron, SD. He attended schools in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1966. He then attended SDSU in Brookings for 2 years and Huron University for 1 year. During his college years he worked for NWPS. Following college Bill worked for Huron Dressed Beef; Heartland Pork; Leighton Lounge and Lazer's as a bartender; and in the construction trade. On May 19, 2010, Bill married Kathy Dirks in Huron. Bill's interests included hunting, fishing, traveling, and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Bill is survived by his wife, Kathy of Huron; mother, Velma of Huron; sister, Karen (Merlin) Voorhees of Onida, SD; step-daughter, Angie Dam of Madison, SD; 2 step-grandchildren, Cody Summerside and Tanner Dam; mother-in-law, Lucille Dirks of Huron; 2 nieces, Emily (Joe) Sovell, and Signe Mohr; 3 nephews, Stephen Voorhees, Patrick (Tacea) Voorhees, and Charles (Anjar) Voorhees. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth; and his loyal friend, Mica the dog.
