Beverly L. Kempf, 82, of Huron, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at her home under the care of her family supported by hospice. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with a private family burial at St. Martins Cemetery following lunch.  Visitation with her family present will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, December 19 ^th at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with a scripture prayer service beginning at 6:30 pm.

Beverly was born on August 28, 1940 in Carthage, SD to Bert and Mable (McClain) Tompkins. She attended The Miner County Country School House for one year and then completed the rest of her schooling in Carthage. She was united in marriage to Paul Kempf on May 7, 1958 in Pipestone, MN. They moved to Huron in 1968 and she worked with her husband at Paul's Appliance. Beverly loved painting, and her artwork brought great joy to many. She was a member of the Pink Ladies, Merry Widows, and Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

Beverly is survived by her children; Dan (Kathy) Kempf of Huron, Ken (Nancy) Kempf of Huron, Kathe (Keith) Kempf of Las Vegas, NV, Jean (Jared) Gross of Sioux Falls, Curt (Suzanne) Kempf of Huron, Barb (Mark) Glanzer of Aberdeen, Sue (Mike) Paye of Aberdeen, Patricia (Adam) Steiner of Overland Park, KS, and Jeff (Amy) Kempf, of Huron; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother Rodney (Carol) Tompkins of Huron; two sisters, Linda Zavitz of Green Valley, AZ, and Charlotte (Dan) Leonard of Shawnee, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul on March 24, 2008, parents, two infant children, Alice and James Kempf, one granddaughter, Terri Kempf, one grandson, Joshua Gross, two brothers, Irvin Tompkins and Marvin Tompkins.

The family will direct any memorials in Beverly's name to local schools and programs that provide art classes for children or you may make a donation to a charity of your choice.
