Obituary
Beverly Bragg, age 75, of 1659 1st St. SW, Huron, SD, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Her body has been cremated and her memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 16, at First Assembly of God with inurnment of her cremated remains in Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will be present to greet friends Sunday, March 15, from 5-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home.
Beverly Bragg was born Beverly Kay Nixon on November 18, 1933, to Howard and Cora (Hatton) Nixon on her grandparents farm south of Southam, ND. She attended elementary school through the 8th grade at Southam, then attended and graduated from high school in Devils Lake, ND, in 1951.
Following her formal education in 1951 she began working as a secretary for Greenleaf Insurance Agency in Devils Lake.
On November 16, 1953, Beverly married Howard Bragg in the Presbyterian Church in Southam. The couple lived in Devils Lake while Beverly continued to work for the insurance company until 1955.
In 1962 they moved to Huron where they owned/operated the Holiday Motel until 1986. At this time she began working out of her home sewing various items for Kane Enterprises of Sioux Falls. She retired in 2003.
She was a member of Huron Baptist Church, and the Huron Area Senior Center. Her many interests included spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, yard work, making porcelain dolls, beadwork, crafts, playing Mexican dominoes, and raising horses when she was younger.
She is survived by her husband, Howard of Huron; 3 children, Howard W. (Kathie) Bragg of Madison, MN, Valerie (Mike) Mincer of Bismarck, ND, and Dale (Monica) Bragg of Huron; 11 grandchildren, Darcy (Rob) Sheneman, Joshua (Josie) Bragg, Dustin (Katie) Bragg, Jessica Bragg, Stacey (Troy) Ahmann, Weston (Holly) Mincer, Aubrey (Rob) Remmers, Brittney Bragg, Jordan Bragg, Celina (Tommy) Cypher, and Arturo Bragg; 7 great grandchildren, Tracy Jonassen, Dalton Sheneman, Dacee Sheneman, Allison Ahmann, Carter Mincer, Reagan Remmers, and Madison Remmers; 2 sisters, Patty Moilanen of Bismarck, ND, and Betty Severtson of Huron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Cora Nixon; 2 brothers-in-law, Roland Moilanen, and Lloyd Severtson.
