Beverly Thomas, age 78, of Huron, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Welter Funeral Home. Visitation, with the family present, will be from 2-4 PM on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Welter Funeral Home.

Bev was born to parents John and Lillian (Lorenz) Erfman on November 14, 1944 in Miller, South Dakota. She grew up in the Miller area.

Bev married Claire Thomas on September 30, 1972 in Miller. They made their home on the family farm, raising cattle. She enjoyed raising cattle and showing dairy cattle at the South Dakota State Fair for 50 years. She also enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Bev's favorite pastime was spending time with her granddaughter. She was a member of the American Milking Shorthorn Society.

She is survived by her husband, Claire of Huron; her son Gary (Heather) Beck of Selby, SD; her granddaughter Fisher Beck of Selby; her siblings, Carolyn (Jim) Lamont of Willow Lake and David (Janice) Erfman of St. Lawrence; nieces Sarah (Aaron) Schneider and Staci (Todd) Siers; nephew Josh (Julie) Erfman; and numerous nieces and nephews on the Thomas side.

She was preceded in death by her parents; aunt Emma Klages; uncle Ed Lorenz; and her parents-in-law Jim and Audrey Thomas.

Memorials will be directed to a Memorial Bench in Bev's honor at the South Dakota State Fair Grounds in Huron.
