Bessie Amick, age 88 of Woonsocket, SD, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery rural Huron.
Visitation with the Family present will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
Bessie H. Burnside, the daughter of Howard and Mary Ellis Burnside, was born on January 4, 1922, in Mitchell, SD. She attended schools and graduated from Mitchell High School. Bessie married Owen Amick on July 5, 1941, in Nebraska. The couple made their home on a farm in the Woonsocket area. Bessie was a homemaker and helped out on the family farm whenever she could.
Bessie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell for many years. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of the lawn, and spending time with her family and friends. Bessie also enjoyed travelling, she was always packed and ready to go.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Owen Amick of Woonsocket, SD; and her many nieces and nephews.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Charles Burnside.
