Bernice W. Wormstadt, 95, Rapid City, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Golden Living Center - Meadowbrook, in Rapid City. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City. No funeral service is being planned. Her body has been dedicated to USD Medical School and her cremated remains will be buried at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date. For register book entries please go to www.kirkfuneralhome.com Bernice Wormstadt was born Marie Bernice Wehr, on September 2, 1917, to Oscar and Kezia (Miller) Wehr, at their home near Esmond, SD. She had three sisters, Ethel, Clara, and Ruby and one brother, Norman. She attended school in Belle Prairie Township and High School in Iroquois, SD. She later attended college at Northern Teacher's College in Aberdeen, SD, and following graduation she taught school in Edmunds County, Beadle County, and Sanborn County. On September, 28, 1944, Bernice married Maynard Wormstadt and they resided on a farm north of Artesian, SD. Bernice gave many piano lessons to students while living on the farm. She is survived by her son, Dale (Kathy) Wormstadt of Rapid City; 4 Grandchildren, Lana (Pete) Rondeau of Troy, TX, Dawn (John) Sleiter of Millani, Oahu, HI, Wayne (Becki) Wormstadt of Windom, MN, and Gail (Roger) Albrecht of Parkston, SD; 11 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
