Obituary

Belva Evans, 83, went home to be with Jesus on January 9th, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller, SD surrounded by her loved ones. Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14th, 2022 at the Nazarene Church in Miller with Pastor Nathan Kline officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Thursday, January 13th, 2022 at the Nazarene Church. Masks are required at each. Burial will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery.

Belva Moeita was born on August 3rd, 1938, in Kingfisher, OK to Elmer and Crystal (Perry) Boyd. She met the love of her life, Richard "Ole" Evans, in Kingfisher, and they married on December 31st, 1960. In November 1961 they moved to Miller.

Belva was a homemaker caring for her six children and later Ole and Belva managed the Lips Motel for several years.

Belva loved country music, especially occasionally singing with her husband in his country music band, The Dakota Playboys.

Belva had a great sense of humor and a deep faith in God, both of which saw her through many hard times. She was very proud to have read the entire Bible every year for 20 years straight.

Belva loved bragging about her 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She had one great-great-grandchild due in March 2022.

Left to cherish her memory are her five children, Jim (Sanae) Brown, Jacksonville, FL, Greg (Peggy) Brown, Shawnee, OK, Deborah (Araya) Araya, Waldorf, MD, Tammie (Gordon) Gross, Miller, SD, and Ronnie (Maria) Evans, Antioch, TN. She is also survived by her siblings, Wanda Irwin, Melvin (Helen) Boyd, and her many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Ole, son, Randy Evans, her sister, Doris Miller and her husband John, and her brother-in-law, JD Irwin.
