Audrey M. Zirpel, age 85, of Woonsocket, SD, died on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron, SD.

Her Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m.Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron, with burial at the Eventide Cemetery in Woonsocket, SD.

Her Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday March 15, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, SD, with family present from 6-8 p.m., with a prayer service to begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night; or one hour prior to the service at the church.

Audrey M. Beutner, the daughter of Gus and Viola (Minor) Beutner was born on November 9, 1925 in rural Jerauld County, and attended country school. Audrey married Wilbert Zirpel Sr. on December 19, 1948 in Parkston, SD. The couple lived in White Lake, SD and farmed, before moving to Woonsocket, SD and opening a business.

Audrey was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in White Lake, SD and the Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Woonsocket, SD. She enjoyed gardening, baking, dancing, playing cards, and taking care of her family.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her 4 sons: Wilbert Zirpel Jr. of Buffalo, WY, Wayne (Laurie) Zirpel, and Bryan ( special friend Lisa) Zirpel, both of Rio Rancho, NM, Clyde (Mona) Zirpel of Lane, SD; 2 daughters, Ruth (Ronald) Nelson, of Huron, SD, and Mary Ann (Steve) Dammann of Woonsocket, SD; son-in-law Darrell Hoxise, of Sioux City, IA; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene Beutner, of Hot Springs, SD; sister, Ruth (Tom) Lutz of Bassett, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Viola; her husband, Wilbert Sr.; daughter, Ruby Hoxise; great-grandaughter, Haley Weideman; brother, True Beutner; and stepfather, Paul Hose.
