Audrey Peterson, age 70, of Wolsey died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 03, 2011. Her funeral will be 10:30 am Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service, Wednesday. Audrey Faye Peterson was born October 7, 1941 to Frank and Ethel (Coon) Halbur in Huron, SD. She graduated from Huron High School in 1959. Audrey then attended Northwest College of Commerce and received an Associate's degree in Accounting. She married Leon (Pete) Peterson on July 9, 1961. Audrey worked for Barthlow Construction, James Valley Co-op, Cenex, and finally retired from Lewis Drug. Audrey was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed many activities including bird watching, fishing and camping. She loved her dogs. Audrey is survived by her husband of 50 years, Leon (Pete) Peterson; sons, Dave Peterson of Huron, SD, Daniel (Marjorie) Peterson of Wolsey; daughter, Charnelle (Rick) Wooledge of Sioux Falls, SD; two grandchildren, Makayla and Hunter; aunts; uncles; and cousins. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents.
