Arthur Art Olson, age 85, of 1345 Michigan Ave. SW, Huron, died Sunday, December 18, 2005, at the Huron Nursing Home. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 PM Thursday, December 22nd at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home. Arthur Bernard Olson was born on October 10, 1920, to Bernard and Ada Olson in Kellogg Township, Virgil, SD. He attended grade school in a country school and attended Wessington Springs High School, graduating in 1940. In 1955, Art married Alice Wood. They lived on a farm north of Wessington Springs. In 1957, they moved to Westminster, California, where Art worked for the city department in Westminster, California until his retirement. They returned to Huron in 1993, where he has lived since that time. He is survived by two step sons, Donald Wood of Wessington Springs and Roland Wood of Seven Mile, OH; one step grandson, Gilbert Wood of Florida; two step great grandchildren; two sisters, Beulah (Paul) Mundt of Huron and Donna (Kenneth) Johnson of Tucson, AZ; three brothers, Verne (Lenore) Olson, Eugene Olson and Allen (Betty) Olson all of Huron; one sister-in-law, Margaret Olson of Bend, OR; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice on December 14, 1997, his parents, step mother, Veulah Olson, one step grandson, Ricky Wood, two sisters, Bernice in infancy and Gladys Randolph, three brothers, Ellsworth, Harley and Adrain Olson, two sisters-in-law, Shirley and Lucille Olson, and one brother-in-law, Bill Randolph.
