Arlene Diede, age 81, of 50 7th St. SE, Huron, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Monday, March 14th at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Monday morning. Arlene Diede was born Arlene Mae Anderson on August 26, 1923, to Albert and Ruth (Goethel) Anderson at Huron. She attended Huron school and graduated from Huron High School in 1941. She worked at Montgomery Ward for several years. On December 19, 1941, Arlene married Edmund Diede at Crofton, NE. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 25, 1992. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1931. She is survived by two sons, Neil (Karen) Diede of Slayton, MN and Wayne Diede of Huron; one daughter Peggy Diede of Rapid City; a special friend that Arlene thought of as a daughter, Marietta Pope of Rapid City; four grandchildren, Brenda (Ray) Bullerman of Adrian, MN, Brett (Julie) Diede of St. Peter, MN, Jill (Roger) Arbogast of Huron and Brian Diede of Aberdeen; 9 great-grandchildren, Brooke and Abby Bullerman, Lauren Diede, Caitlin, Austin and Karsen Arbogast, Dawson, Madelynn and Bradyn Diede; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Fern) Diede of Madison and Milbert Diede of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna on January 23, 1970, her husband Edmund on August 5, 1992, and her parents. The family will be meeting at 366 Utah Ave. SE. Casket bearers will be Brett Diede, Brian Diede, Roger Arbogast, Ray Bullerman, Steve Hofmann and Don Brenner.
