Mrs. Robert (Ardis) Mills, age 69, of 1439 Sunset Drive, Huron, died Friday morning, March 5, 2004, at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Monday, March 8, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Monday morning. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Ardis Mills was born Ardis Ione Eske on April 17, 1934, to Victor and Ruth (McLain) Eske at Conde, SD. She spent her childhood on a farm near Conde, and graduated from Conde High School in 1952. After completion of her formal education she moved to Clark, SD, where she worked for a few years. On June 12, 1955, Ardis married Robert Mills at Clark. They moved to Huron in 1959, where she was employed for many years at the Inn Hotel. Ardis was one of the founders of the Huron Little League Program and was in charge of the concessions for 6 years. She served as Secretary of the Beadle County Democratic Party, and was a member of the Lady Lioness. She is survived by husband, Robert of Huron; 3 children, Terry Mills of Rapid City, Sandie (Steve) Reecy of Edgemont, and Tim (Misti) Mills of Gregory; 2 grandsons, Christopher Mills, and Hunter Mills; 2 brothers, Wyman Eske of Tuscon, AZ, and Wilber Eske of Sioux Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Douglas Mills; an infant sister, Verda Eske; 2 sisters-in-law, Maude Eske, and Noramae Eske.
