Alma Owens, age 99, of Huron died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. Her funeral will be 10:30 am Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron with burial in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 6-8 pm Friday, July 6, 2012 at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service at the church. Alma Stolz was born on September 19, 1912 in Wagner, SD to Henry and Charlotte (Mebius) Stolz. Alma attended country school Wessington Springs. She married Edwin Lippert on June 24, 1935; he passed away on May 30, 1942. Alma later married Harold Owens on March 20, 1948 in Huron. They raised their family on a farm southwest of town. Alma was a member of Mt Calvary Lutheran Church and Huron Senior Center. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking and most of all spending time with her family. Alma is survived by her son, Dennis (Paulette) Owens of Huron; daughter-in-law, Karen Lippert of New Mexico; four grandchildren, Randy Owens, Riva (Steve) Tomasi, Wanda (Bob Giacopasi) Lippert, Kurt Lippert; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Aldora Biffle of OK, Nina (Earl) Haugen of Aberdeen; sister-in-law, Beulah Stolz of TX; and several nieces and nephews. Alma was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Harold in 1985; one son, Gaylord Lippert in 2001; one brother, Raymond Stolz; four sisters, Viola Stolz, Elizabeth Stolz, Elsa (Roy) Davis, Freda Lien; and brother-in-law, Roy Biffle.
