Alma Clouser, age 84, of Virgil, SD, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at her granddaughter's home in Wolsey, SD. Her funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Welter Funeral home with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 p.m.; or Monday afternoon one hour prior to the service. Alma Clouser was born ALma D. Mencke on September 7, 1926, to George and Dorothy (Hay) Mencke, in Huron, SD. She attended Wild Rose Country School through the 8th grade. On December 31, 1944, Alma married William "Bill" Clouser in Huron. In March of 1950, they moved to a farm in Vernon Township. Alma worked in Huron for many years. Bill passed away on November 26, 1996. Alma remained on the farm until recently when her health began to fail. Alma was a member of the Neighborly Get Together Club, Vernon Club, and league bowling for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and doing crafts. She also enjoyed working outside in her flower garden. She is survived by three sons, William Jr. (Carla) Clouser of Aberdeen, Michael "Mick" (Corinne) Clouser of Wolsey, and Tracy (Sherri) Clouser of Wolsey; Nancy Clouser, of Wolsey, SD; 11 grandchildren, Christi Andersen, Michael Clouser, Cathy Clouser, April (Ben) Wirth, Brent (Amy) Clouser, Jessica Mastel, Vanessa DeWitt, Eli Friend, Tiffany Clouser, Wyatt Doering, and Tristan Doering; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Bill; two sisters and their husbands; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and one brother.
