Alice Waldner, age 81, of Huron, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Avantara in Huron. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Welter Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation, with her family present, will be one hour prior to the service.

Alice Christina Waldner was born on April 24, 1944, in Huron to Ralph and Mildred (Munion) Jensen. She attended school in Huron and later married Mike J. Waldner on June 4, 1958, also in Huron. Together they raised their family of five children in the community they called home.

Throughout her life, Alice worked at several places in Huron, including the nursing home, M & M Daycare, Hardee's, McDonald's, and as an aide at Redfield Hospital. She also spent many years babysitting, a role she truly enjoyed.

Alice cherished time with her family above all else. She especially loved family gatherings and holidays shared with her children and grandchildren, and she always made time for everyone. In her quieter moments, Alice enjoyed playing board games—particularly Monopoly, Sorry, and Skip-Bo—as well as croquet and badminton. She liked baking cookies, completing crossword and word search puzzles, and watching her favorite television programs, including old westerns, The Price Is Right, and The Young and the Restless.

Alice is survived by her children, Laurie Waldner, Cindy Waldner, Millie Hendrichsen, Richard Waldner, and Amy (Jason) Swartz; her beloved grandchildren, Amanda and Cody Waldner, Josh Hunter, Jeremiah Diaz, and Jake and Tiffany Johnson; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; her husband, Mike; and her granddaughter, Jennifer DeShazer.
