Alice M. Landon, 81, of Spearfish, SD, and formerly of Huron, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, December 31, at the Carlsen & Aldinger Funeral Home in Spearfish with Rev. Kip Roozen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A second funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday, January 2, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Spearfish, SD. Alice M. Kukuk was born on September 6, 1923, at Huron, SD, to Charles F. and Alma C. (Mattke) Kukuk. She grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1942. Alice married Glen Everett Landon on September 4, 1943, in Huron. They made their home in Huron and she worked at Benson Optical in Huron for 20 years. They moved to Rapid City in 1971 where she worked for the Family Thrift Center East for 19 years. Everett died in 1981 and Alice lived in Rapid City until moving to Spearfish in 1996. She worked part time at the Family Thrift Store in Spearfish. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spearfish, Rapid City, and Huron. Alice is survived by 1 son, Stanley (dorothy) Landon of Columbia, MO; 1 daughter, Bonnie Jean (John) Ellingsen of Spearfish, SD; 4 brothers, Don Kukuk of Reno, NV, Keith Kukuk of Yuma, AZ, Howard Kukuk of Yuma, AZ, and Bill Kukuk of San Diego, CA; and 5 grandchildren, Andy Ellingsen of Spearfish, SD, John Ellingsen of, Eau Claire, WI, Shawn Marie Landon of Lincoln, NE, Jodee Cates of Katuawa, KY, and Joseph Landon of Ashland, MO; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, in 1981, her brother, Lester Kukuk and her parents.
