Alice Adams, age 79, of Lake Norden, SD, and formerly of Huron, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Lake Norden.
Her body has been cremated and her memorial service will be held at a later date.
There will be no visitation.
Alice Adams was born Alice Joyce Chatfield, daughter of William and Julia (Sherman) Chatfield, on November 4, 1930, in Ball Club, MN. After graduating from high school she attended Bemidji State University, Bemidji, MN, where she received an Associate Degree.
She married Richard Adams.
Joyce lived in various northern Minnesota locations over several years; in 1978, she lived in Minneapolis, MN, where she worked in the Student Financial Aide Office for the State of Minnesota from 1979-1992; 1992-2006 in Bemidji, MN; Huron from 2006 until April 2009 at which time she became a resident of the Golden Living Center in Lake Norden.
Her many interests included creating with beads, sewing fabrics, oil painting, cooking and baking for all of her loved ones.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Geri (Don) McCleary of Huron, Mary Lovaas of Denver, CO, and Katie (Blaine) Cross of Minneapolis, MN; 1 brother, Ray of Deer River, MN; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Fay, Gloria, and Kathy, all of Deer River, MN, and Linda of Oregon; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 3 sons, Ray, Pat, and John; and 1 sister, Sheila.
