There will be a Celebration of Life for Alex at 2 pm, Saturday, November 26, at the Huron ELKS Lodge 444.

Alex was born April 14, 1991 to Tony Smith and Rena Kohlman in Huron.  Alex grew up in Huron, graduating from Huron high School in 2010.  He enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard in 2009 and was honorably Discharged in 2014.  He moved to Rugby, ND in October, 2015, where he worked as a corrections officer at HACTC until the time of his passing.

Survivors include his three children, Katie Smith, Ashton Smith, Ashley Smith and their mother, Rachel Holler; parents, Rena Kohlman, Tony (JoAnn) Smith, all of Huron; siblings, Ashley (Casey Harty) Austin, DeSmet, Eric (Tela) Poile, Rugby, ND, Alyssa Smith, Huron, Aaron Smith, Huron, Wade Kohlman, Huron, Megan Kohlman, Huron; grandparents, Sharleen Smith, Huron, James & Shirley Whitlock, Tucson, AZ and Ron & Debbie Baruth, Alpena.  Alex was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Smith and uncle, DJ Smith.
