Agnes Spencer Quam, age 95, of 1345 Michigan Ave SW, Huron and formerly of Esmond and De Smet, died Saturday, February 17, 2007 at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 20th at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Rhonda Wellsandt-Zell officiating. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery at Iroquois. Friends may call Monday evening or Tuesday morning until the time of service at the Welter Funeral Home. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Agnes Quam was born Agnes Brudvig on November 2, 1911, to Nels and Martha (Toft) Brudvig at Irene, SD. She grew up on a farm south of Iroquois and went to school in Esmond. She married Delbert Spencer in 1930 and raised 7 children. She was a cook at Mungers Caf and Gordons Caf in De Smet and also at the Service Caf in Huron. She married Harris Bud Quam in 1959. She worked in housekeeping at the Marvin Hughitt Hotel until her retirement. She is survived by her 6 children, Delores Corbin of Carthage, Marie (Howard) Blachford of Orient, Grace Lorenz Ward of Cavour, Delbert Junior (Marcy) Spencer of Huron, Mary (Bernie) Tyrrell of Sioux Falls and Richard Spencer of Dell Rapids; 22 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; 4 step great great grandchildren; 1 brother, Alvin (Elva) Brudvig, Sioux Falls; 1 sister, Martha Blackburn, Pico Rivera, CA; 2 special friends Luella and Deanna; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, Delbert in 1955 and Bud in 1976, parents, 1 daughter, Peggy Lorenz, 2 granddaughters, Dawn Corbin and Kathy Fischer, 1 grandson, Rod Lorenz, and 4 sons-in-law, Kenneth Corbin, Roger Lorenz, Marlin Fischer and R.J. Ward.
