Obituary

Agnes Klicker, age 92, of Wolsey, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 10th at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Rev. L. Scott Spiehs officiating. Burial will be at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call this Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Wednesday morning. There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM this Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Agnes Klicker was born Agnes Nettinga on November 15, 1913, to Loke and Adrianna (Lako) Nettinga at Springfield, SD. She moved with her parents to a farm in Wessington Township in March of 1916. She attended country school in Wessington Township and graduated from Wolsey High School in 1932. On January 16, 1934, Agnes married Fred Klicker by Rev. F.W. Leyhe. They farmed until July of 1960 when they moved to Wolsey. To this union three children were born, Marilyn, Mavis and Chris. Agnes was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, LWML, Social Sisters Club, and Wolsey Senior Center. She worked at the Wolsey Cafe, Mas Diner and was a cook at Wolsey Public School for 17 years. She was an avid supporter of the Wolsey Senior Center, spending countless hours quilting and doing embroidery work. Her family and friends have several pieces of her work to treasure. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing and family get-togethers. She is survived by 2 daughters, Marilyn (Lee) Heller of Wolsey and Mavis (Ron) Bensley of Seattle, WA; 1 son, Chris (Denise) Klicker of Wolsey; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Lucy Nettinga, Faye Nettinga and Hattie Klicker; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred on September 12, 1985, her parents, and 2 brothers, Sam and Renus Nettinga.
